Horseback Riding Lessons

"No Pressure" Western Pleasure

• Home school times available

1. Lessons are given on a weekly, bimonthly or monthly basis according to the arrangement made between the student and Mrs. Grimes.
2. Lessons are 1 hour in length, divided into:
• 15 minutes brushing and tacking the pony
• 30 minutes riding time
• 15 minutes UN-tacking and brushing
3. Lessons are given in a 4-lesson block at $100 per block.
4. The first two lessons are private one-on-one for the full hour. Following these introductory lessons, up to 4 riders may be taking a lesson during the same hour. The $25 per hour rate is a group lesson rate.
5. Students will be instructed with a discipline of "Safety First" as the primary directive.
6. As in any sport, different students will advance at different rates.
7. Bareback riding is an essential tool when learning how to ride. Approximately every 8th lesson will be bareback to promote close contact with the horse and challenge the student's balance.
8. Upon parent approval, Mrs. Grimes will video portions of a lesson to allow a student to see how they are improving their skills.
9. Students must provide and wear riding boots and a riding helmet.
10. A release must be signed and remain on site for the student to engage in lessons.
